Home For Buyers Real Estate Glossary For Sellers

What to Ask a Potential Real Estate Broker Prior to Listing Your Property.

  1. Are you a full-time Realtor?
  2. What are your area and market specialization's?
  3. How many listings do you have? What percentages of them sell?
  4. What is the market trend right now?
  5. Will you create an impressive high quality flyer promoting my home? Do you have a sample?
  6. Do you have a marketing plan? Can I make changes to it?
  7. How often do you show properties to buyers?
  8. How many properties have you sold in the last 12 months?
  9. How do you locate prospective buyers?
  10. In what ways do you network with and encourage other agents to sell my property?
  11. How can I help you help sell my property?
  12. Is my property going to be marketed on the Internet? Where?
  13. Do you have any professional designations?
  14. What repairs do you recommend for this property?
  15. What is your open house policy?
  16. What is the difference between market value and marketing value?

A real estate broker should empower you to make decisions based on facts. They should give you the information you need to make a good decision.

General rule of thumb:

If you would not want them working with you at your company, don't hire them to help you sell your house.
